(THE NAUGHTY COLONEL FROM ACROSS THE WAY) – After years of, literally, “drowning in the desert” Lieutenant Colonel Pache’ (LTC) returned home a brilliant and decorated officer and gentleman. And, of course, a national and treasure and hero! Yet, his striking beauty and allure somehow managed to remain intact. Utterly off the charts, so to speak! In addition, the officer brought back his naughty and tenacious nature, as well. That said, the day came when the brazen young officer went for the gold, in the proverbial pot. An older more powerful Colonel’s woman, and love of life. What the damnation was he thinking! Officer of LTC Kidd’s caliber is called the “Frozen Middle”, for a reason. Truly LTC Pache’s simply wasn’t thing clearly. (Or was he?) AND A PROVOCATIVE SCOUNDREL & DELICIOUS TORMENT… HE WAS!

Ms. Eliza Inc (she and her family) needs to close the marriage deal for the Sorrels 10K diamond engagement ring and heirloom: which has been in the Sorrels family since before the civil war. Ms. Eliza turns out to be quite the brutal taskmaster, of the social climbing ladder.
However, she was up against it because Ms. Elle was the quintessential social climbing maverick! In addition, the New Orleans born mulatto beauty turns out to be Mr. Sorrels-Brown’s carnal emancipator, as well as his dark nemesis! Whispering Ridge would turn out to be “ground zero”, for the tenacious debutants. In reference to their marital and carnal missions. In the end, however, only the fit and feistiest of the two debutantes would prevail and survive! What in the hell Damnation is going to go down on that nine-thousand square acre spread, of the Brown family’s plantation and prized real-estate!
Ms. J. Z. Luciano’s novel noir will turn out to be a possible literary game-changer, for future literary romantic dramas and plot-twists. But a “treasure trove”, at the same time, of an insatiable and compelling read. I am confident you, the reader, will not wish to put this novel down for a second. It will be far too difficult.
