SOMETIMES IN LIFE AND LOVE, YOU HAVE HAVE TO KNOW WHEN TO GRAB THE REIGNS!
TUESDAY AFTERNOON & EVENING. ON LAKE ALATOONA!
CAPTAIN BILLY CALLED TO INVITE HIS “GIRLY’ TO UNLIMITED DRINKS; FUN ON THE WATER; DINNER FOR TWO WITH LOBSTER, and MAHI-MAHI!
“Ring…Ring…Ring…
“Hey there beautiful…Mr. Chairman of the board resounded on the other end. Sssshhh….you can’t say no this time. I’ve called the chef…dinner will meet us at the dock. It’s my turn to wow you. Now get your ass up here straight away: because today I shall take you to dock in the most beautiful cove on Alatoona. There we will dine and swim like fish and play to our childish indignations.” I remained silently, simply chose to breath rather heavily. Next, The persistent Boat Captain spewd the words that would, literally, me into “incurable romantic” orbit!
“Baby…come away with me to place of majestic sunsets—with burst of orange, yellow, purple, and gold. You ssssssoooo…need and deserve this.”
Needless to say…I was out the door; while holding the phone between my neck and ear; and a prepared bag that was already on stand-by…and out the door.
My response was to Mr. Vice-President was simple. “Don’t let me beat you to the dock…Mr. Majestic Sunsets, blushing of course!”
Just like that…a girl who felt her love life was in, somewhat, of a maelstrom …discovered something far more tangible and incredible….connection.
All because, I refused to settle for mediocrity and second best. The Chairman knew and realized my self- worth. Because I taught him how to treat me. I held on to my convictions and commanding comportment. This was my exercise in faith and incredulousness, that I would except any thing less. Nor treated less. Winking.;-)
Now…as for the friends and colleagues; who we extended an invitation, but they declined out of vengeance and envy. They became even greener, with those eyes of parallel gregariousness. (In a none tactile sense, of course. called for an happy hour date….and none in my little circle were any the wiser of his real fiscal physique….winking!
It is one thing to live life…and quite to another to love it!
